I love these weddings. I find that out here in Brooks, Alberta I get to photograph real weddings.
The kind of weddings that celebrate the history of the area and the area itself. Maybe you’ve already seen their sneak?
Bryan and his groomsmen all wore jeans and cowboy hats and we went so far as to do some of their portraits in the Patricia Hotel, an area landmark.
The ceremony was so full of community and family and friends. I felt really lucky to have been a part of it all.

Katie’s grandmother did this painting. I loved all the art her parents had in their home.

The girls at Adora Day Spa in Duchess did the makeup. I have worked with them at a lot of weddings and am always so happy to see them!
Brandi Romeo did the hair.

The scene at the boys house was very different. Oh were they having fun.
*It’s one of the groomsmen that is shaving out of the kitchen sink, not Bryan.

Bryan received the hat holder (is that what it’s called?) from his sister the day before. What a great gift.

The ceremony was beautiful. They have a lot of support from their family and friends.

Then it was off for portraits! My favorite time!

Now, this was a first for me!

We did a majority of the photos in Katie and Bryans yard, it was full of great nooks.

The reception in Duchess was awesome. Not awesome was when the head table collapsed! Luckily it fell forward toward the crowd
and not toward the bride and groom. It was handled perfectly and all was cleaned up quickly.
I thought the candle wax that clung to the table cloth looked like some sort of art piece.

Bryan’s Dad busted out his guitar and voice. These are my favorite moments at a wedding.

I also adore emotional moments. Katie you are beautiful.

From what I heard of the end of the evening it was crazy and wonderful. The dancing started off on the right foot!

I have to make a correction from yesterday. I have two weddings left in 2009. I’m headed out today and it’s -20 already…. but oh so beautiful out!
