Erin and Jason’s Farmyard Wedding :: Duchess Alberta Wedding Photography ::

This post is SOOO overdue.
Erin and Jason were married in her families yard in September under a beautiful deep blue sky and surrounded by a very wonderfully rich in relationships family.
I adored all the details they put into their country picnic themed wedding.
The hay bails in the yard, sunflowers,… ohhhh the work Erins mother put into her yard!

Their reception was decorated with burlap wrapped sunflowers and lampposts and as a favor to their friends
Erin’s Grandmother made a serious truckload of homemade jam.

I was so honoured to be a part of Erin and Jason’s day, especially since they called me the day after they were engaged.
It means so much to me when people follow my work and include me in their day.

Olivia and Lance Married :: Tide Lake Wedding Photography ::

Tide Lake is a pretty special place.
When I rolled up to the church and saw how quaint and quiet it was, I realized how spectacular this wedding was going to be.

I met Olivia several years ago while playing Ultimate Frisbee, it was a brief meeting but she had so much energy and zing that she stuck with me.

We met again several times at weddings that I was photographing and she
had mentioned “when I get married, you’ll be my photographer.” I was so
thrilled to get her call when she got engaged!

Olivia and Lance had a vintage wedding and asked their friends and family
to dress in vintage to go to the wedding, it was a great idea and their were
some amazing outfits!

Thank you Olivia and Lance for including me in your day!

Being able to photograph a wedding of friends is a pretty big treat.
I graduated high school with Janelle and it was pretty cool to be a part of her wedding day.
Janelle is a girl with spirit. She’s always happy, enthusiastic and genuine and I’m glad she’s got such an equal match in Kevin.
They are both bright people and photographing their wedding day was a happy moment for me.

These two emitted classic-ness to me the whole day so you will notice a fair amount of B&W images… I just felt this wedding called for it.

Rommens Family :: High River Family Photography ::

We had been planning this session since the end of May.
Luckily all could both make a summer day work and I was even more happy that we could do it near their home.
High River is a beautiful area and we played by the river, explored the park and danced in a field.
The Rommens crew are a barrel of laughs. River and Harper are possibly the two cutest boys I have EVER seen.
Oh and Adam and Adrienne…. the last photo says it all.

Ahhhh…. A reflection of summer for you all on this Summery September Day.

Ashley and Dale were married in June on a beautiful day with beautiful people around them.
These two are Brooks, Alberta people and they were surrounded by such a rich group of locals, a real feeling of community.
I knew of these two before they contacted me to photograph their wedding, and I had photographed Ashley’s sisters families before
so I was eager to get the opportunity to be a part of their wedding.
They have kind and big hearts and I loved getting to know them throughout their wedding day.

Just look for their own gaze, or glances toward each other in these photos.
Love gives me goosebumps.
Thank you Ashley & Dale. Your wedding was a blast!

I always rave about Adora Day Spa in Duchess, I get to see Lindsay and Amanda numerous times throughout the ‘wedding season’
turning beautiful girls into beautiful brides. They are pretty darn good at their jobs and so fun to work with.

Imagine my surprise, after being fairly self absorbed with my new life as a Mom, when Lindsay calls to purchase a Gift Certificate for Amanda
who is about to have a baby. A baby? How did I not know about this!

Little Baby Liam is such a sweetheart and was way too excited to be a photo subject to go into that deep baby sleep.
Such a ham. Such a fun session.

By the way – I love that Amanda wanted to incorporate their records into the session and can you believe that cool
‘dream’ sign above the crib?? Amanda made it! Love.

I could hardly believe it when T’s Mom called and asked me to do Grad Photos for T.
Whaaaaa??? She’s Graduating?

I feel like I had just done their family session and it didn’t seem like that much time could have passed…

Alas, that is what happens when people grow up.
And isn’t she all grown up and pretty!

I love handmade.
I am a bit of an etsy stalker.

When our little girl was born it was amazing the kind of talent that came out of the closet with friends and family.

This post was meant for Valentines day as ‘things I love’. As you can tell I’m just a wee bit behind.
Then I was thinking of getting back on the “Love2Love” Friday train, but then that passed as well… so here you go Tuesday afternoon…

Can you sense the bird/owl trend? The owl is V’s favorite animal/bird. Seriously, she told me so herself.
She’s nuts for them so we just gave in and let her have her way and let her decorate as she wished.
