D and J are engaged! :: Rainier Wedding Photographer ::

We were supposed to photograph on Valentines Day, which I later learnt is when these two first met.
Unfortunately it was windy enough to blow you out of town, so we rescheduled.
I promise you we haven’t seen the sun for weeks in Brooks. WEEKS! But it made no difference yesterday. These two were wonderful.
They brought their own brightness.

I had spotted some locations a while ago while I was be – bopping through Rainier. Sometimes it’s hard to get in touch with people
to gain access to their land or yards. Luckily for me J had access to all these places and we could clamber up grain bins and into yards
without getting yelled at. Or, people giving us quizzical looks. Most often it’s the quizzical looks and questions.

D and J are getting married in a corn field in August.
I love my adventurous clients!

This is a favorite for sure.

This is heavily inspired by an image Brittany Esther took at our wedding.

A stop in Rainier is never complete without a stop at The Oasis gas bar.

The time this session took from phone call to end of session was about 45 minutes.
Ms. B is so herself. She is at that age of kicking snow, playing, having fun and making snow angels… in a skirt!
What a great way to spend 45 minutes; photographing the happiness of playing in the snow!

I love the way these images feel, they are so bright and calm.

B’s loyal and constant companion is Gussy. He’s a reliable and totally lovable dog.

Nothing like sparkly snow on a fresh winters day!

My camera is at the Spa. Just like me it needed some knots massaged out from all the
photos we had taken together. My back was sore from it’s heft, it’s sensor was dirty from the work.
We went our separate ways when I arrived and therefore I have no exciting NY photos to share. For now.
Get this, the leaves are A) still green here and B) still on the trees, it’s like a second Fall for me!

Instead of New York, here is Julie, Scott and Eddie. One of my last photos sessions before heading to the East Coast.
We had an amazing time in the leaves and grass running around the park.

Eddie was crazy for the leaves. Once we started we had a hard time stopping.

I love family hugs!

Enjoy the weekend! My camera should be back from the spa next week.

Katie & Bryan Sneak! :: Patricia, Alberta Wedding Photographer ::

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love photographing people in their home element.
Katie and Bryan were married at the Patricia Hall on Saturday had their reception at the Duchess Hall and we did their photos everywhere in between.
I had bragged to a few people before the wedding about how lucky I was to have a bride and groom that were so keen to have
portraits done inside the Patricia Hotel. It’s a legendary place that need to be visited to be fully appreciated. A great place for wedding portraits.

We also photographed on their acreage nearby. Here are a few sneaks. I won’t be able to fully blog this wedding for at least a month so enjoy!

Katie has these crazy blue eyes and lucky Bryan gets to stare into them for the rest of his life!

It was impossible to pick which images to post. There are 18 people in this family I have a LOT of images!
We had originally booked the session for September 20th which just happened to be the only day it rained in all of September (well practically).
We re-scheduled and we made it work yet again. Imagine scheduling 18 people in 4 families.
We had an amazing evening at the Horticulture Centre in Brooks chasing light, kids and smiles. It was a total blast.

Here are a few. Like I said, there were so many to choose from!

Did I mention chasing kids! That was probably the best part, running alongside them.

Apparently big beautiful eyes and eyelashes run in their genes!

I loved her little shy smile.
