Small Business Week :: I love being your photographer ::

It’s small business week in Canada!
This year I realized that it has been 15 years since I have been in business!
Yup, FIFTEEN! That feels old and now I feel a little older. (All of my gray hair now makes sense ;)

In those 15 years I have had the opportunity to photograph so many amazing weddings, families and business’s
all over Alberta, Canada and the World. I consider myself to be so lucky to have had such bright and strong relationships with
my dynamic subjects and to have learnt so many new skills from colleagues and friends.
Growth doesn’t happen without everyone, it’s a big community involvement, especially with photography!
Trust is also incredibly important and being able to do what I love for so long has meant that you must trust me.
(Well I hope so!) So thank you for trusting me with your memories, with your events and with your time.
In these past 15 years I have learnt that what I love to do most is connect.
I love to connect with people (ask my husband… I will talk to anyone, anywhere) I love to connect you with your family,
with your spouse, with yourself. I believe that in order to achieve amazing photographs you have to feel connected
to the time you are spending with me, and the time you are spending with the other people in front of the camera.
This is a huge part of the recipe for great images.

Having started out photographing weddings and families in Canmore, Alberta over a decade ago prepared me to
travel to Rotterdam in The Netherlands to photograph a family wedding as well as set me up with skills
to grow as a photographer in Brooks, Alberta. I’m grateful for the mountain settings, the cityscapes and the canola fields I have photographed in.
Recently my very first wedding client, whose wedding I photographed in Banff, Alberta, who trusted me despite the fact that I had never photographed a wedding before,
hired me to photograph their young boys in a canola field in Brooks, Alberta. I love following your stories from the start. What a lucky girl I am!

So, in celebration of small business week, I wanted to say thank you to YOU, for giving me the opportunity to follow my passion and for trusting me!
